About Mrs. Monks
Kheri Monks is a dedicated wife and mother of three preemies and two bonus children from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With over 17 years of experience in IT, she is a certified IT coach, scrum master, and manager. A proud graduate of Southern University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Kheri has held numerous leadership roles throughout her career. She currently serves as a board member for the National Congress of Black Women (NCBW) and is the chair of the NCBW Greater Baton Rouge chapter. Additionally, she is the Corresponding Secretary for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Metropolitan Baton Rouge chapter.
Kheri is a passionate advocate for maternal and child health, particularly in supporting families with premature infants. As the founder of The Preemie Mom Coach, she offers peer coaching and connects families to crucial resources in maternal and child health. Her advocacy is also reflected in her forthcoming children’s book, dedicated to her daughter, Gem, which raises awareness about prematurity.
In addition to her professional and advocacy work, Kheri is actively involved in the SEAC, advocating for special education students in Ascension Parish.
Kheri loves Christ, and her faith inspires her to make a positive impact on families and communities through her work and advocacy.
